Kootenay Acres is a hobby farm turned farm sanctuary located in the West Kootenays. We specialize in special needs animals and farm rescues/rehomes.
Our Mission:
Is to provide a safe haven for farm animals, promote responsible and humane treatment of all animals, and advocate for animals traditionally used for farming as companions.
How we will achieve this:
- Community Outreach
- Social Media postings and educational content
- Sanctuary tours (coming soon!)
Kootenay Acres Farm Sanctuary is a registered non-profit.
We are now accepting private tours by donations on Fridays. Start time for tours are as below:
10:00am
11:00am
12:00pm
1:00pm
Suggested donation: $25/adult
We can offer tours to community and school groups at no charge. Please email us to get in cue for a complimentary visit.
We are actively looking for volunteers. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.
